Beautifully reformed townhouse with a GARDEN. The current owner has lovingly modernised the property to a very high standard. This sylish and elegant townhouse is located in the pretty village of Guaro, in a quiet street with good acces to the main road (A-7100) to Monda and the direction of Marbella, which is just a 25 min. drive. It is an authentic reformed Andalusian house, with thick plastered walls, wooden beams carrying the ceilings and a lovely courtyard with beautiful fig trees, that feels like a secret garden in the middle of the village. From the street, small steps lead you to the entrance of the house. When you enter, you arrive in a living room with window that looks out on the street in front of the house. There is a cloakroom on this level. Steps lead you to the first bedroom, which is right above the living room and also has a window that overlooks the front of the house. When you walk straight after entering the house, little steps take you to another living room on your left, a kitchen on your right and the door to the courtyard in front of you. The kitchen and second living room have both windows that overlook the outside space. Next to the kitchen are stairs that lead you to a very spacious second bedroom and the bathroom. Outside entering the ¨secret garden¨. The courtyard is an ideal place to relax, have dinner or just enjoy the sound of the birds and relax. The big fig trees provide lovely shade in the summer and there is plenty of space for a big dinner table or a BBQ area. Guaro is a modest white village, located on the edge of the Sierra de las Nieves natural park. Thanks to its elevated position, at over 350 metres above sea level, the village offers privileged views across the surrounding countryside. The area is known for producing almonds and olives, which is an important part of the local economy. Guaro has it´s own olive mill, where locals have their harvests pressed. We have a video about the mill on our Youtube channel, to give you an impression. The village of Guaro is also used as an Eastern base for access to the Sierra de las Nieves, were you have stunning nature hikes and adventurous activities. It is the ideal spot for outdoor lovers and also offers a few famous cultural activities like the Luna Mora festival in September. Like many white villages in Andalucia, the village dates back to the Arabic occupation of Spain. Luna Mora, translated as Moorish Moon is an historic celebration with arts, crafts and music in the open air amphitheater. Throughout the evenings of the ten day festival, there is a Moorish style street souk, and the entire village is illuminated by over 20,000 candles which is truly beautiful to experience! Each July the village celebrates its annual pilgrimage parade or ‘Romeria' terminating at the tiny chapel of ‘Ermita del Santuario del Puerto'. Another typical Andalusian event, where everybody is welcome to join.
